Biography:
Lindsey Darvin, M.S. is a Research Assistant in the Department of Tourism, Recreation and Sport Management. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Sport Management. Her research interests include gender equity, women in leadership, and athlete development under the advisement of Dr. Michael Sagas. Prior to beginning her studies at the University of Florida, Lindsey had the opportunity to work with two prominent sports organizations; the United States Olympic Committee in Colorado Springs, as well as the Harvard University Athletic Department, both in events and operations. Lindsey completed her M.S in Sport Management at the University of Massachusetts Amherst (May 2014). While at the University of Massachusetts, she served as a Teaching Assistant (Introduction to Sport Management) in the Department of Sport Management in the Isenberg School of Management. Lindsey received her Bachelor’s in Political Science from Bryn Mawr College in May 2012 with a concentration in American Law and Constitutional Law. Her undergraduate thesis entitled: “Title IX: Touchdown or Technical?” focuses on societal reactions to the law as it applies to intercollegiate athletics. Lindsey was a two-sport student-athlete at Bryn Mawr College (basketball and lacrosse) as well as serving as an assistant basketball coach at both the high school varsity and DIII levels.
