Sport Equity Team
About the UF Sport Equity Team
The Sports Equity Team (SET) is a volunteer student organization overseen by the Laboratory for Athlete and Athletics Development in the Sport Management program in the College of Health and Human Performance.
The focus of our Team is to promote, educate, research and advocate for increased access and opportunities for children to participate in sports in the Gainesville community. Specifically, the Team aims to use Sport Based Youth Development (SBYD) principles to serve as a powerful equalizer to address inequities in access to quality sport programming, especially in underserved communities.
All members of the Team will receive extensive training in SBYD programs, free SET gear, and have an opportunity to engage in several successful and innovative programs with local partners
