The Brazilian Student-Athlete Exchange Program

The LAADR was pleased to welcome student-athletes from the country of Brazil for a two week long program combining athletics and academics. Student-Athletes were youth soccer and tennis players ranging in age from 13 to 19. These Brazilian student-athletes had the opportunity to live on the University of Florida campus, take coursesĀ in the University of Florida classrooms, train on the University of Florida athletic fields with current University of Florida soccer players, and eat meals on campus along side University of Florida students and student-athletes. Additionally, this program incorporated campus tours, as well as an informational panel discussing NCAA Divisions 1, 2, and 3 student-athlete experiences and recruiting processes.

The components of the 2015 summer program included:

  1. Soccer training with collegiate student-athletes
  2. Tennis training with collegiate student-athletes
  3. English classes
  4. Sport management courses taught by University of Florida faculty members
  5. An informational session and tour with the University of Florida head Women’s Soccer Coach Becky Burleigh
  6. University of Florida Athletic Association Facilities tour:

    • Training Facilities
    • Locker Rooms
    • Club Suites
